A secret 'night vision' mode in the iPhone's new software has stargazers very excited (ya, great feature... for criminals.  If they have a scanner to pick up you personal info from a chip credit card, when you check out and after you enter your pin number, they use this to pick up what keys you pressed.  Wah lah, they have everything to go shopping on your dime.  Think just calling the credit card company absolves of all responsibility and that is it, forget it.  They have your info, and  the fraud effects everyone using credit cards in ever increased cost of everything.)

Geekly Update - 15 September 2016

Anniversary Update Freezes File Associations (Open With)

Note: You MUST be in an Administrator Account to do any of these things!

I ran into this issue with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Win 10 Pro 64-bits) after destroying the original Admin Account and creating a new one. Windows UWP Apps (Metro Control Panel or Settings Pane) would not let go of their Default Programs settings! (Default Programs, Open With and File Associations) It turns out there is a Registry area which is set permanently, and needs to be edited.

(ALWAYS back up your Registry to an external device like a Flash Drive whenever making Edits to the Registry with any method!)

http://winaero.com/blog/prevent-windows-10-from-resetting-your-default-apps/

Not being a very brave person, I decided to go for the .reg file, which changes all the Default (UWP/Metro) App File Associations Settings at one time. Much safer!

(What follows is a limited search capability for finding articles.  One problem is it is limited to one weeks posting at a time.

Search within a webpage (find bar)

Use the find bar to locate a specific word or phrase on a webpage. The following steps apply to Google Chrome on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome OS, but also works in Firefox and Edge browers.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. At the top right, click More More.

  3. Select Find.

  4. In the find bar at the top right, type your search term.

  5. Press Enter to search the page.

You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + f (Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS) and  + f (Mac) to quickly open the find bar.

Google Chrome automatically searches the page as you type, highlighting potential matches in yellow. You can also quickly see where all the matches are located on a webpage, using the yellow markers on the scrollbar.)
