How to Stop
the Meltdown and Spectre Patches from Slowing Down Your PC
I have to
say, this article is heavy on the "upgrade, upgrade, upgrade" side
of things. It should not be necessary to upgrade to Windows 10 to
make the Registry changes and throw your system wide open to
attacks. If you have one of the older Intel chips, you are damned
if you do, damned if you don't.
extensions with 500,000 downloads found to be malicious
So how is it
that people keep installing these extensions? Do people just go
out and look for random extensions to add? There must be something
like the web page fake alerts which try to prevent you from
leaving the page without installing an extension. The article made
no mention of this.
Control security feature in Windows Defender on Windows 10
This reads a
lot like heuristics or crowdsourcing of security. Both of which
cause more false positives which block legitimate applications
than these protections are worth. As with any of these advanced
security features, you have to choose Windows Defender as your
only active antivirus program. This is not supported by the
performance data from independent testing labs, which still rate
WD as a poor choice. Application controls could be use to prevent
the use of any app not downloaded and installed from the Microsoft
Windows App Store. At present this does not appear to be the case,
but unless this feature is user configurable, it could eventually
have the effect of turning all Windows 10 installations into

malicious Chrome extensions are infecting more than half a million
I still don't
understand why anyone would seek out an unknown and untested
browser extension and then install it without even looking at
reviews from tech pros.
Defender System Guard works on Windows 10
would have to run nothing but Windows Defender to use this. And in
all likelihood, it would prevent booting another operating system
in a dual-boot configuration. This would be the end of using Linux
and Windows side by side. And Windows Defender is still one of the
least effective antivirus programs out there.
Tim Cook: 'I

doesn't seem to give any details on the age of Cook's nephew, nor
what exactly Cook means by "a social network". This random quote
has no context, and is therefore almost impossible to evaluate.
Oxycontin Into Safe-to-Dispose Garbage With This Free Powder
exactly the wrong approach to take. WalMart is dodging their role
in distributing opioids. There is no such thing as safe
pharmaceutical garbage or byproducts. CVS Pharmacies are promising
to have in-store disposal boxes similar to those used by fire
departments and police departments now. This would be a much
better way to take back unwanted opioid prescriptions. Please do
not dispose of narcotics in the garbage -- treated or not!
7 Places You
